Colorado has a wide mix of treatment types. Bone marrow concentrate is named most often, but many clinics also list exosomes, amniotic or placental products, fat-derived cells and umbilical cord products. In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration has approved very few stem cell products, mainly blood-forming stem cells from umbilical cord blood for disorders of the blood. Treatments that use a patient's own minimally processed cells in the same procedure, such as bone marrow concentrate, can be offered without that approval.
